Mag Safe Rounds

Was wondering if anyone had anything to say about using mag safe rounds. If so, what do you think about them for home home defense/personal protection? I realize they're pretty pricy and was wanting to know if they're worth it.

Inadequate penetration in live situations and in testing. Proven hollow point ammunition is less expensive and penetrates to adequate depths to damage internal organs.

Secondly, the "hydrostatic shock" effects that Magsafe uses for their marketing has not been proven to damage organs, if at all, in pistol calibers (with some exceptions likely).

Do your local police (and not the drunk know it all at the bar that claims he was a special deputy something something) carry Magsafe? If you carry a similar caliber, ask your local LEO (if they are nice they will tell you). Carry something proven. What caliber are you intending on shooting? We can give you plenty of suggestions if we knew.

Our LEO's here carry Federal Premium Tactical Law Enforcement rounds. I plan on carrying either in 9mm or .40 S&W.

I have done the melon bust test with several different rounds in .45 ACP. Not a scientific
deal by any means but there were notable differences in the rounds. The Mag safe and Glasers totally destroyed the full size melons. All the hollow points blew the back half away but the Mag safes and Glaser rds. disintegrated the center section near entirely. I was impressed But it does not take a lot more than an exploding water melon to get me going. I have Mags loaded with Mag Safe, Glaser and Speer gold dot for home defense. These rds. did the most damage in our "Testing" ( eat your hearts out Myth busters)

Sounds like you had a good time testing these. I'm trying to gather as much info about different defensive rounds as possible. I came across these online and didn't know exactly what to think about them.
