Manufacture date??

Hey guys I'm sellin an SKS on another site, and someone asked what the manufacture date is.
How would I find that out?

It's a Norinco SKS sporter

its got Chinese characters followed by a box with 0138 in it then a dash mark then 7103xxx could anyone tell me what year it's made or link to a site that can tell me what year it was made?

I don't think there is info out there to date a Norinco---as far as I know all the ones imported were made for the U.S. market and are not surplus.

Yup that's what I'm beginning to see, no set dating system for them

Me being the "smartass" that I am,
I would just tell them manufacture date is the year of Tiger and let them figure it out.
