This is what my Mod. 60 wil do at 50yrds on Fedaral Bulk. I have a Simmons 3x9x40 scope on it! and I was only using my elbow for a rest and sooting fairly quick!

That's good shootin'! My last 2 mags of the day at MCFG are always the 75 yard steel standing, and the 100 yard steel kneeling. Most times it's 10 out of 10.

Stopped by Dunhams in Wabash on the way back from camping at Mississinewa with my 4 yr old. They didn't have any 795's in stock. They stated they usually stock them for around $135 and occasionally have sales that list them at $110 or $115.
I have to say I'm impressed with my Marlin 981T .22LR & 983S .22WMR, they have outstanding out of the box accuracy once sighted in, and I'd say they are as accurate as a stock 10/22 with standard barrel. It's nowhere near as consistent or accurate as my $800 10/22, but its as accurate as you would need making headshots on squirrels up to 50yds. I could nearly clip their ears with my 10/22, but at 4 times the money it should. If sub $200 is what you want to spend, you would be smart looking at Marlin's offerings. Marlin makes great budget 22's.

Ok, so the burning question, as everyone here should know: what scope do you put on a Marlin 60? People with fewer than 50 quality posts would like to know.

I have the Simmons 3x9x40 variable power. As stated earlier, I think I paid less than $100. If you just want to Plink one of those 4x15 rimfire scopes would be fine but I did not like them, that's why I went to the Simons. One rule of thumb I've heard is your scope price sould be at least as much as the price of the rifle. Hope that helps you!

I got mine over the holidays and put a bipod and scope in her. Also picked up several 10 rd. mags and two 25 round promags on the way.

Warm weather can't get here any sooner

What's the best price you guys have found for factory 10 round mags? And how has everyone's experience been with the 25 round pro mags?

cheapest i found the 10 rounder was $18 at midway usa (it was the cheapest once you counted in shipping). I have heard nothing but good things about the promag one....no personal experience though.

I bought the 10 round Marlin, for 22 self loaders and post-1998 bolt actions at Big R. I can see no difference between it and the Marlin 795 10 round nickle magazine.
Anyone know where to get the Promag? One went on Gunbroker for $59! Factory direct price is $21.42 . Academy sports is $16.99, in store only.

Sportmensguide I think has them for $16. They aren't under the promag name on the listing so it might take a little work. Shipping was like $12 though.

look at the world around you...dont expect to find them right now. We are in a climate right now of "if you didnt get it before this happened dont expect to get it now" That is unless you feel like paying double or triple the price.

I have a Marlin mod 60 that I have had for almost 30 years, that think has had thousands of rounds through it, mostly cheap Winchester wildcats.....It still shoots and performs great. I alos got a Marlin bolt action 22, that thing is a tack driver!!!

I got 1x 10 rd Mags at Gander Mountain for $20. Make sure you are buying the 10 rd and not 7 rd magazine. You might want to try looking into some gun shops around your area. I luckily found 10 round magazines for $14 in Lafayette. They had three and I bought all of them.

My 25 round magazines are in route to the house from Pro Mag. But I had to pay full retail and s&h. I'll put a post up when I shoot from them
