Gonna buy a Marlin 3030 for Indiana varmits and, possibly some out of state creatures. Also, may just plink a lot with it . There are several I'm looking at, 2 on the INGO classifieds and a few elsewheres.
This will be my first Marlin of any type and I'm not very familiar. My first question is basically how the older models (60's era) compare to the new in box models of today, other than the wood being used for the stock ect.
Also what might be the differences in say the 336 RC vs. a 336A. Both pistol grip, both same length barrels. Are there differences in the metal quality or actions? Better grooving quality?
Obviously some things might have been updated but, that doesn't always mean people like the "improvements" better. Any opinions? If you were to buy one today and they were the same price would you buy a new one with zero rounds or an older one in great condition?
