This just turned up in my inbox. I would love to know how these dolts got the idea that I am a leftist sheep.

“Gun arguments await lawmakers back home”
    USA TODAY, March 20, 20131
    Dear David,

The U.S. Senate is in danger of losing their nerve and bowing to pressure from the NRA. They need to hear from you before it’s too late!

Yesterday, Senate Majority Leader Reid said several key measures to prevent gun violence were in jeopardy because not enough Senators have come forward in support. Even though 57% of Americans want to get assault weapons and high-capacity magazines off our streets -- Reid said that the measure had no more than 40 votes. And despite an overwhelming 92% of Americans who want background checks for all gun sales -- Reid said this crucial measure might be sidelined as well.2

That’s why Mayors Against Illegal Guns is organizing a National Day to Demand Action on Thursday, March 28th, when Senators will be at home for Easter/Passover Recess.

RSVP to join the National Day to Demand Action -- pledge to call your Senators on March 28 and help shut down their phone lines.

Your members of Congress are heading back home for recess and will be making up their minds on how they’ll vote come April. That’s why we are kicking off the largest on-the-ground organizing campaign in the history of gun violence prevention.

In the days ahead, you’ll be receiving email invitations to attend events near you or to make calls to your Senator’s home district offices.

Your Senators need to hear from you before they vote on gun reform.

There’s no question about it. Your community will be talking about guns. Please join the National Day to Demand Action and make sure your elected officials support laws that will save lives:

    March28

Thank you for taking action at this crucial moment!

If they're against 'illegal guns', shouldn't they be focused on enforcing the laws already on the books instead of increasing the size of their target?

You been going behind enemy lines indydave?

If these guys actually supported laws that save lives, they'd support the 2nd amendment and start eliminating laws!

May be a bit of good luck getting this. We all need to remember that this is an ongoing fight and we need to spread the word to all the pro-Second Amendment folks to counter this propaganda between now and March 28th with additional phone calls and letters.

I would submit that the only one in danger of losing nerve and bowing to pressure is the individual citizen.

Why don't these "mayors" do what most normal mayors do and govern their own cities I'm sure there are enough problems in their own cities to keep the occupied

I don't know what I did to deserve it, but I get regular e-mail from these knuckleheads as well as the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, which (fruitlessly) hits me up for a few bucks a couple of times a week.

My question is, why do they call themselves mayors against illegal guns, when they don't do anything to penalize someone who commits a crime with an illegal gun, and are always going after legal guns?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

That's because they are politicians. Politicians lie. A lot.

Hold on there, Dave. You're doing a valuable service and performing an intel function by posting their transmissions here. Since I speak fluent communese (American dialect), hope you don't mind if I translate a bit.

The U.S. Senate is in danger of losing their nerve and bowing to pressure from the [STRIKE]NRA[/strike] American people. They need to hear from you before it’s too late!

Yesterday, Senate Majority Leader Reid said several key measures to [STRIKE]prevent gun violence[/strike] further attack the 2nd Amendment were in jeopardy because not enough Senators have come forward [STRIKE]in support[/strike] to violate their oath. Even though 57% of Americans want to get assault weapons and high-capacity magazines off our streets :n00b:-- Reid said that the measure had no more than 40 votes. And despite an overwhelming 92% of Americans who want background checks for all gun sales -- Reid said this crucial measure might be sidelined as well. (Hey, they might be partially correct on that last one. Since a lot of the dumbasses support mandatory background checks at point-of-sale retail from licensed dealers, why not mandatory background checks on the entire population for anything, anywhere?)

That’s why Mayors Against Illegal Guns is organizing a National Day to Demand Action to further violate the Right of the people to keep and bear arms on Thursday, March 28th, when Senators will be at home for Easter/Passover Recess.

RSVP to join the National Day to Demand Action -- pledge to call your Senators on March 28 and help shut down their phone lines.

Your members of Congress are heading back home for recess and will be making up their minds on how they’ll vote (if they're having trouble "making up their minds", it's because they lack the integrity to adhere to their oath of office, which demands absolute loyalty to the Constitution for the United States, including that the Right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed) [STRIKE]come April[/strike]. That’s why we are kicking off the largest on-the-ground organizing campaign in the history of [STRIKE]gun violence prevention[/strike] destroying one of the essential underpinnings of a Constitutional Republic.

In the days ahead, you’ll be receiving email invitations to attend events near you or to make calls to your Senator’s home district offices.

Your Senators need to hear from you before they vote on [STRIKE]gun reform[/STRIKE] violating the 2nd Amendment.

There’s no question about it. Your commune will be talking about guns. Please join the National Day to Demand Action and make sure your elected officials support laws that will [STRIKE]save lives[/strike] render you a registered, tracked, monitored, controlled, and eventually disarmed servant in a socialist police state.

I'm still wondering why everyone (news) listens to people that have the high crime rates, highest rate of violence.
I mean.... you don't go to the guy getting Fs on his report card and ask him a question about what the correct answer for #3 is, do you?

Only if you are trying to identify a wrong answer to avoid! Of course that would require rational thought which the gun grabbers either do not have or (much more likely) are applying to an agenda which has nothing to do with crime.
