I am working on completely redoing my BOB/Just in Case Bag/Gear. I came across this site for a buyer's guide regarding MREs. Helpful stuff, especially for someone who has never bought an MRE before.

I think one thing to be aware of is: even though something might be edible after a long period, does it still contain any nourishment? Vitamin degradation and other important factors might make the meal about as nourishing as sawdust after 10-20 years also.
