Knoxville's mayor recently prohibited carrying at some park down there. Nashville just elected a really liberal mayor. Tennessee is like most other states---when you move out of the mountains and away from the lakes and towards the cities, expect liberal zaniness to abound.

You'd think venues would start cancelling concerts/sports games/shows, because people got high or drunk at their venue, and suffered trauma during/afterwards because of it (ie alcohol).

That's probably their voter base. They wouldn't want to alienate them.
