Years ago I went all around looking for a "gun club" to join before I had my own range. It didn't take me too long after attending a couple mandatory meetings at a few different ones to realize that I really didn't want anything to do with a gun club.

I have a 75 yd range in my own yard.
I shoot there anytime I want for free.
If I want to go further, I can go to Winamac, out to 200yds.
Wish them well, but, I wouldn't be to optimistic.

Too much for me even if I was closer to Ft. Wayne. I pay $40 per year where I shoot.

Ft Wayne has a real nice range I drive to with 1k called youngslongshot.com . You have to be a nra member and it's about $350+ a year membership but it is a REALLY nice range
They have heated hides to use on the 1k and elevated prone platform.. I was impressed with how clean and complete it was.

I have not either.. I pretty much do my best to stay away from Indianapolis. Certain parts of indy are just very highly likely you'll get robbed or shot.. Mars Hill, the meadows are just a few, the whole Eastside has become just one big crack house.. yeah I could righteously defend myself but it's much cheaper and simpler to just avoid it all togethet
