To be honest. I am torn between the Miroku 92 Winney and a VERY nice pre WWII 94 in 32 WS. The ammo for the 32 is beyond stupid in price though, whereas the 92 in 357/38 special would be very economical to shoot comparitively. The Miroku is a quality gun. There is a 94 in 30-30 with the long octagonal barrel at Beech Grove Firearms if I remember correctly for around $1,300.
From what I understand the collector ones are pre-64 and pre-WWII. I have an 1980 94 which is only a little better than the early post 64. All I know is that I am out of purchasing power at the moment.
I bought a 94 in 32 Win Special a few years ago. Action was stiff, turns out it was factory grease still in it. Made in 1959. One of my favorites. Does well with cast bullets. To be honest.
