Me I miss him. I personally think America would be a better place if we would have kept to his principles and idea. But you know there are abunch of people that coud never get to him when he was alive that won't have a nice thing to say about him even though he is dead.

I'm out of reps for today. I'll try to remember to come back to this thread tomorrow. Reagan is one of my all time heroes. Hopefully history will eventually give this man the honor he deserves.:patriot::yesway:

Yeah, he was a great man. :patriot:

It would have been interesting to see where we would be now if he had another 20 years in office to really get things going. As it is, it took 20 years for the lib's to figure out how to sabotage everything with the R's "trying to get along and play nice syndrome", which can be graphically illustrated like this::rockwoot::rockwoot::rockwoot:

One issue that really torques my butt is how R's like to repeat the mantra "I'm a Reagan conservative". BS. There's not but a few of them left worth a darn. Most of these wankers have been living off of Pres. Reagan's coattails for 20 years.

    got him for ya.

But I agree with TWB. He didn't like guns. Why do you think that gun rights didn't really come back until the 2000's in most parts of the country, and are still heavily restricted in his home state.

I miss him, he was a good president, unlike the one we have now. The only thing I thought he could of an should of done better was to close the borders after giving amnesty to 10 million illegals, an when he had control of congress to at least present a law to stop abortion, if I remember right he said he would use his power to stop it.
He went soft on both these. He sure wasn't the wimp Carter was who I feel demorilized America an made us look so weak. Now we need someone to come in an reverse all the Wimp crap Obama has put forth....just don't ask me who its going to be, hopefully not a (R)....but a American, an if he has the foresight an values of Reagon, we will be doing much better.

Nope. I certainly don't. Any president that restricts my firearms ownership is an enemy, not a friend.
I respect your opinion. I would like to add though that the Brady bill was signed into law by Clinton, not by Reagan. While I will admit that Reagan's involvement in anything resembling gun control was disheartening to me, the bill signed by Clinton was a far cry from the one Reagan endorsed. I do believe Reagan's positions on this must be considered one of his few errors. Intentions do not justify results, but he did have good ones regarding this issue. His primary concern was keeping firearms from those that should not legally have them. I don't want to start a separate debate about gun control or the Brady bill. I just can't bring myself to consider Ronald Reagan an enemy. Again, you are 100% entitled to your own opinion. I just don't agree, and we are fortunately allowed to do that. :patriot:

I had a conversation with his last Chief of Staff (A Relative). His only concern was to keep firearms from people that could not legally have them. He was a big supporter of the Constitution of the United States as written. He also loved the men and women of the military, he thought they were the greatest citizens of this country.

But more importantly is he NOT the one that signed the Machine Gun Ban?
Hum... not so great in my book me thinks.

Reagan signed the Mulford Act and disarmed millions of Californians with the stroke of a pen. Why? Because he couldn't handle the thought of a black man with a gun. I, too will take a pass on him.

Ronald Regan was a liberal consumed by big business during his acting career and was told what to do and say his whole life. His Hollywood liberalism acting to Spokesperson for Maytag to President were nothing more than scripts he was following.
