I am looking for a couple of new 22's for Appleseed. I already have a 10/22 for the kid and will be purchasing a nice bolt action for myself to use this year.

However, that leaves me at least 1 rifle short (Mrs. or whoever else might need to use it this year for an Appleseed). It needs to be semi-auto and I'm not interested in putting a ton of money into something that won't be used on a regular basis unless it "just makes sense".

I'm considering getting another 10/22, but I ran across a brand new model 64 for $130 and I've been thinking about it for the last 2 hours. It's $100+ cheaper than a 10/22 which means I will be able to put a better scope on it.

Provided I'm not interested in a large aftermarket supply of fixin's for this gun... is the model 64 worth it? or would I be better off to just get another 10/22?

Has anyone had a bad experience with their savage model 64?

Just looking for a little input to see what you guys think

Oh, btw... I was able to score 2 boxes of Tulammo .223 from Wally World today for $5 each :D

(Too bad they only had 2 boxes)
