    Here is the problem I am still having. As suggested, I got some Colt magazines. (I haven't until now due to lack of funds). Nothing changed. I went to chamber a round and it wouldn't go forward all the way. I looked closer, and sure enough, the magazine was going too far into the gun again. Also, the magazine release isn't working properly. Any suggestions before I take it to a gun smith?

    Sounds like mag release and notch in mag are not lining up properly. Maybe check the mag release and see if it is installed properly?
