Mosin talk- sighting issues

I was out shooting my Mosin yesterday and it was shooting way high. I can work with shooting low but not sure what to do with high. I was shooting at 50yds and was about 12" high. No obvious way to raise the front post or lower the rear sight.
Ideas?

VERY common problem. You have a couple of options. You can buy adjustable sights here; Smith-Sights: Adjustable, high-impact sighting systems for your Mosin-Nagant! or if you like free slide some wire insulation over the front sight post to make it taller.

Those thin straws used for stiring coffee you can get at any convenience store or fast food place also work well. Force the end over the front sight post, a drop of super glue to hold it in place then trim to get your zero.

I've got one. He is SLOW and he means it when he says 5 week lead time, but it is a good product.
