Put an Ebay one on my Mdl 500 that I keep up at the cabin in Alaska. This is my primary means of bear protection. The extended safety works very well with gloves and is much more robust than the original plastic slide.

For me, I grew up on the 870 platform and love that equally as much. The factory safety on the mossberg is fine, but if you run it through a shotgun course, of hunt with gloves the extended safety is one of those things that once you do it once, you're spoiled for life and have to continue doing it for the rest of your days. As far as functioning goes it all works the same, the extended one just has a much better fitting feel for me.

I didn't even know these were a thing.
Why would one need an aftermarket safety for a Mossberg shotgun anyway?
I've never heard of anyone removing the factory safety.
In my case… the safety split in half.
    It was made of plastic.
Mine is a Master Mag 880 20g with a vent rib barrel and engraved bolt assy.
It was a Christmas gift to me when I was 9 years old.
I’m just shy of 60 and it was already a few years old when it was given to me.
If only I had a penny for every round that gun has fired… literally thousands.
But alas the plastic bits are getting brittle.
I love that little shotgun and the memories that go with it.

I ended up throwing an NDZ safety on it over the weekend. $15 from amazon and 10 minutes to install. I was hoping the made in the US Brownells model would come back in stock but I've been on a notification list for a year or so now. The extended safety is nice and will definitely help with gloves on.
