I want to have the barrel of my 223 Mossberg MVP rifle threaded for a suppressor. Got a local experienced machinist ready to do the work. I can't seem to find any info on what kinda tool it takes to remove the barrel nut. Its kinda set up like the old savage rifles. One hole in the nut for the nipple on a spanner wrench . I just don't know what kinda tool will fit it.
Anyone got a clue where I ought to look?
Already e-mailed Mossberg with no response yet.

Hey, we need a gunsmithing section here on Ingo.....

I looked for this info the other night. There is a guy on another forum making spanner wrenches to remove the barrel nut. I'll see if I can find the info, and I'll post it up.

Thanks for the ideas folks. Its done. Redneck injin-uity at its finest.

Saw the guy that was trying to make wrenches, it didn't work out for him.
Yea, I wasn't sure if he ever got it figured out.

How did you end up getting it off? I need to get mine threaded as well.
