We scoped my sons cz 452 with a 3x9 to practise for big game season on the cheap and
found out it will shoot 1 inch groups at 100 yards, and its an out of the box gun.

Most accurate rifle? That would be one with a Rifleman behind it.

I have personally never found a 22 rifle that was not accurate. If you find the ammo they like and do your part most will shoot very well. I have several 22 rifles and they are all very accurate. My most accurate is probably my 77/22, but you can't get them for $500 anymore. Any of my 10//22s are very accurate, but most have Green Mt. barrels either bull, or fluted sporter. My first 22 rifle was my Marlin 60, I have had it for over 36 years and it is still a tackdriver if I do my part. Marlin 39s and Winchester 9422 are great guns if you want a lever action. Never have had the chance to shoot a cz but they get great reviews. Tr

ive got a marlin model 60 that you can shoot a walnut out of a tree with at 50 yards open sighted. (if you have a problem with walnuts, i do) but if you want to customize this isnt the rifle to do it, sorry didnt help, but i do know marlins are usually dead nuts accurate out of the box.. pun intended,,

I think a modded 10/22 is hard to beat. Heavy free float barrel, trigger jog, and a good scope is a good place to start with one.

I have a cheap Walmart bought Savage that is a tack driver. If you sont want to spend a lot of money look into a Savage. If you want to spend more, look into a CZ452. While I dont have a CZ I have shot the 452 trainer. It had an excellent feel to it and was way more accurate than I'll ever be.

I bought the Remington 597 V.T.R. (Varmint, target rifle) CS quad rail. Its an uptick of the standard 597 V.T.R. I put an aim sport 4X32 scope on it. Took about 5 minuets to zero it in. Once zeroed you can put every shoot through the same hole. For a .22LR it is on the heavy side which helps with it's accuracy. They sell between $299- $450, pending on where you shop.
Every time I take it to the range everyone wants to shoot it.

I have an old worn 94/22 that I love. I bought it used 30 years ago and still shoot it the most. For my 2 cents I would suggest a 10/22, You can add to it as you go and there are many companys making parts. Do your homework. ;)

My old man has a Thompson semi auto that is a lot like a 10/22 that is a bad mother. My 10/22 is a dead on nail driver, but I think there are a few misconceptions about them. Honestly if you want accurate Im with the guy earlier, get one of the old 1950s bolt rifles and you can just stack bullets with them. They just dont go bang bang as fast as a ruger will.
