Took a ride to see a buddy... 300 or so.

Much to the chagrin of some, the Indian ran like a top.
Full disclosure, How much was the tow bill home?

Kidding aside, I was over in Elwood yesterday for 3-4 hrs in the chair at Tribal Tattoo. Have you eaten at Orion? yet.

Trailered my new bike over to my friend's place. We went on a 45 mile ride around Brown county. Nice day, great ride. Buzzard took off right next to him, almost hit my friend, but the buzzard had good avoidance skills. I thanked my buddy for the good tour of all the road construction in the county when we were done.

Then we shot. Got my new shotgun setup for me, and was busting clays in his backyard. Great day!

Things you'll never hear an old gray haired Harley rider say.

Trailered my new bike over to my friend's place.

Now wheres that Millennial Video at...
No, they say 'trailered my ride to the shop'

I gave up on cruisers. This bike is still in the break in stage. I am not riding from Terre Haute to Nashville at 4krpm / 58mph.

Still had a great ride and day

With mine, only once and it was trailered home since 1975. 1980 FXS Low Rider. Twisted a rear belt sprocket off. And yes, I was being stupid.
Still have it, I'm 65, no baggers here.
And I can't say I see many 44 yr old imports still on the road.

It was a great day for a ride.

Buddy and I got to get out for a day of riding today. We've both been working a **** ton over the last several months and are blessed with families...

But today, no work obligations and family folks were all busy on other things and neither needed either of us around.

So what was going to be a quick ride to grab lunch turned into more riding, stopping to grab a couple of cigars, and hanging out just catching up.

    Classify these as good times.

Mines close to that old and I ride it as much as I can. Runs smooth, starts as soon as the carbs are primed (3-5 sec crank on choke).

That was an interesting era for bikes.

    Buddy had one of these...

There was all kinds of stuff going on during that time.

I have two of these built in late 1976 almost 48 years old, my other one I bought when I was 19.

Very nice, and fun, like you I tend to keep.
Props to you guys that keep them running and in great shape.

    A friend of mine in HS bought a 74-75/ KZ / LTD? 1000 I was on a 72 XLCH 1000.
Behind our HS was a farm that was being developed as a business park. It had a odd shaped circle road that was about a mile and a quarter around. We swapped bikes and did about 5-7 laps around that road. He had put a few factory race parts on it like a new exhaust and carbs.
It was one of the most exhilarating experience's I ever had on a street motorcycle other than any of my younger brothers Hayabusa's.
I road one of his, once...

Thanks, 1976 was the first year of the production of the LTD and the last year of the 900, they only made 5000 bikes the first year and only 2500 were sold in the states. They only came in one color (red) for the first year LTD
