We're still waiting for the ATF to approve the first batch of 800 or so Kestrels to deliver, but here's a first peek at color options.

Black, Flat Dark Earth, OD Green, are on the menu. Bling (polished stainless) is also available, but not pictured.

Oh, ignore the 9mm baffles to the left. You don't really see them.

Yes, for the Kestrel 5.56 and 7.62 AK.

Oh rEally!?!? :chuckles like school girl and goes to find website:

I was going to get a YHM Phantom or a SiCo Saker if they make 7.62 version, but I would rather give a Hoosier my money. I still may buy a Saker sometime tho. They are pretty badass.

So I am gathering that there is a difference between the 7.62AK and the 7.62 can that we were talking about in my other thread. Am I correct on this?

    Yes, you are correct.

The Kestrel 7.62 AK is purpose developed for the AK platform. It is 6.5 inches long and weighs 19.5 ounces. It has a larger than normal bore to accomodate the high precision threads that are found on all AK barrels. It is hearing safe using a 7.62x39, .300 Blackout, and other small cartridge 30 caliber rounds, as well as 9mm carbine. It is not hearing safe with the 5.56 or 5.45x39 rounds.

The Kestrel 7.62 is a true multicaliber suppressor, suppressing everything from .22LR up to .308. To give you a rough idea of its suppressive capabilities, today we fired a DPMS Panther .308 with the Kestrel 7.62 side by side against an unsuppressed 10/22 firing CCI Stingers. The consensus was that the 10/22 was louder.

Soo, what would be the additional cost of a 556 in FDE? If such a thing could be done.

And, Im also still curious if when the 762 comes out, if it will be possible to get the 762 length tube, with the 762AK baffles and endcap. I just love that the AK can take 9mm, but I think the longer tube of the 762 would make for a better subgun can and then I could also use it for future 308's as well. It would literally cover every caliber I would need.

Now remember I am a Suppressor newb, But from what I understand from SEMPER's last post, the 7.62 can should be able to run 9mm...

It says the 762 can can take up to .308. .308=7.62mm, 7.62mm<9mm.;)

Keep in mind, the Kestrel 762 is a different suppressor than the Kestrel 762AK. The 762 is a longer can which, if it can take the 762AK baffles (overbored to accept 9mm), would capture more gas from a 9mm subgun.

Got it... told you I was a newb haha

No worries. I too am somewhat of a noob/newb? to suppressors. Im just obsessed with these since I have a Form 4 for a Guardian on its way to the ATF now and a Kestrel 556 pre ordered. These guys seem to really know what people want, and I plan on making all my suppressor purchases from them.

We are working out pricing on not only custom colors but on overboring the baffles on the Kestrel 7.62 to accomodate 9mm.
