Great morning for a cold sunrise. Beaming sun steaming the partially frozen lakes/wetlands. Trees popping and cracking from the wind. Not a mammal in sight, but a TON of waterfowl about. Very serene.
Took the 3 & 2 y/o girls for a 3 hr journey through the 'fuge, rounded out by the visitors center. I highly suggest anyone take the trip, if even for the auto tour (you won't even have to leave the heater). The earlier the better.
My personal favorites are the Barkman Cemetery (1/5 mile hike), and the dock on the South side of Lake Linda.
Face the cold, and appreciate what we are losing at a rapid pace (less to invasion, and more to technology). FYI: my phone camera is horrible.
