That dog must be a heck of a jumper! The one(s) I have are up by my roof line over the deck.I don’t know what it is about German shepherds, but the one I have, and the one I had, seem to be drawn to carpenter bees. They will stalk until they get just close enough, and then crunch on them like a potato chip. My other two dogs don’t pay any attention to them.
One point for the GSDsI don’t know what it is about German shepherds, but the one I have, and the one I had, seem to be drawn to carpenter bees. They will stalk until they get just close enough, and then crunch on them like a potato chip. My other two dogs don’t pay any attention to them.
No, both of them just stand on the deck until the bee gets to close, then it crunch time. That dog must be a heck of a jumper! The one(s) I have are up by my roof line over the deck.
Works. I use one too but it isn't as much fun as the 12 ga riot gun, nor as effective as spraying the house with pyrmethrin.Got probably around 20 or so carpenter bees at my front porch over a couple of days with it.

I'd get really tired of replacing my deck roof if I used a shotgun. I'm thinking about getting one of those combo racket/bug zapper things.Works. I use one too but it isn't as much fun as the 12 ga riot gun, nor as effective as spraying the house with pyrmethrin.
They never seem to be interested in the lower level wood on the deck. Just the roof joists and rafters. No, both of them just stand on the deck until the bee gets to close, then it crunch time.
The ones they usually get are buzzing around the handrails. Plus, there’s a couple of levels of deck, but 99% of the time, the dogs are on the lowest level, and just stand there waiting. It’s hilarious to watch. They never seem to be interested in the lower level wood on the deck. Just the roof joists and rafters.
Send Mrs Monkey out to terminate it?Mine know me. Literally. I have one fatty chewing holes in my fence. she flies away when she sees me and wont get within arms length or spray distance. Been trying to get her all weekend.
I figured they just dont like humans. Then last night Mrs. Monkey and I were by the fence working and she says "Look, a bee." It didnt care about her. But as soon as I came close, the bee flew away again. Repeated this several times. I guess they can be smarter than you think.
And this one is smart enough to not go into the trap, too.
yeah... no. She's not good at that sort of thing.Send Mrs Monkey out to terminate it?
