I've had many but only have three left. A Ruger .357 Vacquero, A Charter Arms Bulldog, and this, a Security Six with target grips and sights that I bought new. It's my favorite and is in excellent shape.
You got to give us more, groups, favorite loads, why is it better. I have a GP100 and it's a great revolver but the lock time is too slow, What kind of drills do you run? Open up were your new therapist!!!
I love wheelguns - I'm a convert from plastic guns.
I'm trying to decide a good reason to buy another revolver.
EVERY new shooter that I take to the range ends up loving wheelguns as much or more than any other style. There's something intuitive and natural about how they shoot, load, etc.
There's still a lot to recommend the discontinued Security Six platform, even though the enhancements to the successor GP100 certainly improved durability, it also noticeably increased weight and size.
I love my Blackhawk (7.5" .45 Colt), and my wife loves her LCR-X.
Well, just great...now I have it in my head that I just have to have a Ruger GP100...my wife will never let me get it, because I have nothing I want to trade or sell to get the funds for it. Grrrrrrrr.
SAA or double action; blued, nicholed, stainless steel; doesn't matter to me. I love em all.
Colt, S&W, Dan Wesson, United Sporting Arms, Ruger; doesn't matter to me. I love em all.
22, 38, 357, 357Max, 44, 45 colt.
Accuracy does matter.
I shoot silhouette steel with looooong barrels. Slow and steady.
Favorites:
S&W Model 14,17,19,27..., USA Seville.., Colt Diamondback.., Ruger Security Six
Favorite wheel gun for me is my S&W610, 6 1/2", followed by the 6" model 19. For single action it's the SBH Hunter (44 mag) that my sons gave me for Christmas many years ago.
Love this one as well! Very first handgun I ever bought was a Security Six back in 1987! Bought it at a no longer existing family gun shop. Came with the box, factory wood grips, and a set of new Pachmayr's. I believe they even threw in 50 rds for me...all for $150! Sweet revolver!
I have a few different wheel guns....Ruger SP 101 3", Taurus 85, and a couple more but my Colt Python still holds a special place in my collection....It was my duty gun beginning in 1977....Still shoots like new....
I was told that a 4 inch was not acceptable for a target pistol, so I have tried to limit myself to a 6 inch or 5.5 inch.
What are your thoughts?
Does the 4 inch mean that you limit yourself to a certain yardage?
