I finally got off the pot and picked up the CM9 after almost going another route, again! :n00b: I must say, compared to the Diamondback 9, the Kahr CM9 has good points and not so good points.

    Good:
    1. The CM9 shot everything I gave it! It didn't like my non-crimped reloads, but I won't count that.
    2. The CM9 feels great in the hands, even after shooting 60 rounds in one outing. It doesn't jump around and is easy to control.
    3. The CM9 is very accurate. Just dot the 'I' and pull the trigger and you will hit whatever you are aiming at.
    4. The CM9's trigger is outstanding! I would compare it to the LDA on a Para Ordinance and there is no dead space in the trigger whatsoever. When you get to the back of the pull, the gun goes bang!

    Not So Good:
    1. I cannot carry the CM9 in my leg holster because of its width. It also doesn't conceal as well in the pocket as the DB9, but it's workable.
    2. The CM9 is very 'tight'! The slide release is pretty hard to engage and it takes considerable pressure.
    3. The mag release seems a bit mushy and the mag doesn't release as smoothly as other smaller guns, even the DB9.

Overall, the CM9 is the best option for me. Although the ankle carry was my preferred method of carry with a sub-to-pocket sized gun, I'm very happy to have the CM9. I will now have to either find a pocket holster or go with a CC holster.

Oh yeah, my little man likes the CM9 also! :rockwoot:

    Does anything like them??? :):

Glad you found something you like ... I give it about 6 months on the outside.

Little man has intense look and good trigger discipline.

Congrats on the new firearm! The CM9 is an excellent choice in it's niche.

For pocket holsters, I can recommend the Desantis Nemesis or Superfly. If you step up to IWB, then the Crossbreed Supertuck may be a little overkill for a small gun, possibly the Minituck would do well.

As a new Kahr owner, I recommend the following links:

Prepping your Kahr - excellent post on making sure your Kahr gets off to a good start. It should help with a couple of your "not so good" points.

I myself picked up a CW9 from the 1500 and absolutely love it. I was previously carrying a Gov't 1911 .45acp in a King Tuk IWB holster that weighed around 46oz. The Kahr is half the weight and fits in the 1911 holster also, which saved me from having to buy another holster. I would have bought a CM9 but they cost around $50 more than CW9 and grip was a little small for me. This is my first Kahr and have put 103 flawless rounds through it. The trigger is the best DAO I've personally ever shot. Glad to hear you that you like yours!!

It would be perfect if I could find a magazine with the pinky extension that allows an additional round, similar to the Glock.

Go to Kahr's site and look at part #MK720. It's a 7 round mag that has grip extension and fits the CM series. Just food for thought.:)

The MK720 is pretty good, but some people have had occasional feed problems with it due to the finger pressing on front of the mag. The 6-round mags are more reliable. It wouldn't hurt to have the 7-rounders for the range, but I wouldn't use them for the primary carry mag.

Promags have a bad rep for Kahr. Avoid them entirely.

I purchased a cw40 a while back. Kahr's are very tight handguns, hence the break in period. A couple of INGO members cued me onto this fact. I agree they are accurate. I'm happy with mine. I don't mind the break in round count. That's what it's all about, shooting.

Dont work the slide release button, this is a common mistake to shooters. Simple rack the slide and allow the greater force to chamber a new round.

I know what the manual states, but that was a relatively new addition (my older manuals don't mention it one way or the other). I use the slide-rack method with my K9, P9 and P380, and it works just fine.

Well I'm sure it depends on the model gun, But I know the Kahr rep told me that on a phone conversation I had with them asking them why my new pistol was jamming up! (because of course I didn't read the manual:D),But sure enough it was in there and our Pm9,CW9 and P380 ALL will jam if you do not use the slide stop. But of course it is possible to just hand rack them but I have to be VERY careful in doing so because if you slow it up at all it will jam (so that's a nogo for me). So maybe they added that Because they were having such a constant problem? But at any rate, that is the S.O.P. for the Kahr pistols that I have purchased...

Bumping an old thread. Once again I believe a Que review has sold me on a gun. I'm thinkin I'm going to pick one up. Now the question is where to pick it up and how much to pay???
