Hey guys and girls, i thought i'd start a build thread, seeing how this is my first Mossberg i have a few questions so hopefully i can post up pix and maybe videos later on after i get to shooting it :)

First off here's the gun when i first bought it, i removed the heatshield, and front sight:

    *Zombieland inspired lol

I recently purchased this stock from ATI:
    ATSPG0100.jpg

But seeing how i have a Persuader, the stock bolt didn't fit (wasn't long enough since it came with the stock pistol grip)

I'm really wondering how to mount a scope, it has the screws at the top but i'm new to the whole "Picatinny" rail system... so any help with that would be great :)

I've also wanted to go with a bright fiber optic sight at the front, i'm thinking a custom one might be in order, my friend has a tool & die shop, so maybe we can make something sweet and original :D

that's all for now i'll post up more pix when i get my bolt in from Mossberg! :patriot:

I have the same shottie with a Surefire fore end light, T1 Micro sight, and AR style adj stock. The rail sections are all over the market for the top of your shottie. They are cheap too. The front sight change out is a much bigger deal. I suggest you call tacticalshotgunner.com, a site supporter. They are the be-all-and-end-all of shottie knowledge!

What kind of scope are you considering?

On my Winchester 1300 i had a Bushnell scope, i really liked it, but i'm going to look around and probably get something more compact and tactical, first i have to get a Slug barrel!

What's the intended purpose of this gun? Why not keep the smoothbore?

I'm going multi purpose with this one, seeing how the barrels are around $120-$165 New i'm going to use it as a Deer slug and as a home defense gun in the off season :)

Recommendations of scopes/rails/flashlights/etc. are surely welcome! :D

    Thanx :ingo:!

No reasons to spends tons of money, just get a Bsquare saddle mount and a low power scope. Add, shoot deer, remove.

Oh, of course you have to sight it in.

You can run buck shot and rifled slugs thru your smoothbore barrel.

Use the money you were going to spend on your slug barrel for a light and mount. Or your scope.

Okay awesome! Thanx for the info!

I took the barrel off today and looked thru it, the winchester was a rifled barrel so that's
Where I was confused. Now I need a good light and scope...

Also, the safety on that is probably going to be hard to activate and deactivate since you now have a pistol grip stock on it. I have an aftermarket one on my Mossberg that I think is easier to use while gripping the pistol grip.

Also switching out the barrel on that gun to a different barrel is going to be a pain because AFAIK the only barrel that fits the extended tube is the barrel you have right now. Massberg makes a bunch of barrels that fit their regular sized tube, but I think that is the only one for the long tube.

A messa or other brand side saddle would be a good idea too like others have said. after that, just buy some ammo and practice practice practice.

Awesome support thank you soooo much guys and gals! :D

So, instead of buying the barrel, light, scope, picatinny mount, or any accesories for the persuader, i went to get a new bag for it and walked out with this...

I have a feeling i might be buying another one though, thought it'd be cool to have both with bayonets mounted and criss crossed on the wall in my mancave or something :P

More mods to the Mossberg in due time :)

With the Mossberg Ghost Ring sights, I have no need for a scope. Hitting a 4" by 4" target at 50 yards is quite easy. The hard part was brazing the front sight onto the barrel.

    Have fun with your build.
