...on my way home after the sale i stopped by bradis...

Always a dangerous thing to do, cash in hand + seller's remorse = rebound purchase!

Never heard nor seen these. Does having these mean no carrying after Labor Day?

i do not know which day. 3/22/12 at 5pm. took me a while to post, cause this site would not load for what seemed like a few days.

oh, lol. I was there this morning and I saw an employee there showing someone one of these. I figured it was you. I've been looking at these forever. :D

i heard someone say they were parade grips. i just think they look nice and are different. i have been thinking about doing some polishing on the slide release and decocker, white and chrome always looks good together.
i might do the trigger and hammer, i dont know if it is good idea or not. may not be stainless for these parts, and i hate rust.

i do have a problem with this gun. the rear sight had a allen head screw in it. completely stripped out when i tried to remove it. i then drilled it and wore out my drill bit. screw still in it, and i can not get it out. wont be a real problem till i order the night sights for it. just figured i would get some ideas from you guys.

Wait why did you remove that screw? You can tap the sights out with a brass punch.

I just discovered the 3G Smiths also. I have a nice 5906, and am picking up a 3953 with night sights today. I think they are great pistols for the money, and built like a tank.

You haven't truly experienced Smith 3rd Gen love until you try out a 4506, 4566, 4516 or 457. They are so reliable they will cycle empty brass...no kidding! I love all my Smiths be they 2nd or 3rd gen.

Huh. I really don't know why that screw is there, but with blamecharles' guidance through text I punched out my rear sight with a brass punch and hammer. No biggie!
if you have done it then i would be willing to give it a try. but i will not mess with it till i get some replacement sights. i learned the hard way already.

Punch it out left to right :) be careful because the firing pin safety spring and the magazine safety spring might fly out a little. The mag safety is the white plastic nub if you want to remove it. Obviously, just punch the sight back in from right to left and watch to make sure you don't pinch a spring. I learned the hard way

Though the 4506-1, CS45 and 4553TSW are happier then I feed them full cases.
