My 11 year old was listening to some music on my phone with headphones. After a few songs he starts laughing. He said “instead of Amadeus it sounds like they’re saying ‘hot potatoes, hot potatoes’. Now every time I listen to that song I hear ‘hot potatoes, hot potatoes’. Thanks a lot, Bucky Jr.

DANG-- all this time I thought it was rock me I'm a Danish.. oh well now I can sing it either way.. THANKS!

Actually, there was a parody of the song, entitled "Eat Me I'm a Danish"

There are whole websites on the subject. They're called "mondegreens". Read the origin on that one :)

At this juncture I am unable to resist name-dropping since I am unlikely to have many such opportunities in this life.

I am personally acquainted with Jon Carroll, world renowned mondegreen expert.
