I had no idea we had one. Mind blown!!!

Yeah, I knew they had been doing this to native american women on the reservations as well awhile back (70s and continued till recently I believe). They supposedly would go in to the clinic for other procedures and were either told that they had to be sterilized or they couldn't get treatment or they would be sterilized secretly only finding out years later when they couldn't have kids and got checked.

Kind of crazy... of course our government would NEVER do things like this.

Yeah, Indiana was a leader in the movement. Kept right one doing it up until the mid 70's or so.

Really, we were the first state.

It passed in 1907 and was struck down by the Indiana Supreme Court in 1921 and then repassed with judicial review.
