I have read here on the forums that people use mineral spirits to cut down on the amount of dust from vibratory brass cleaning. I have a gallon of naphtha, would that be a suitable replacement for mineral spirits ?

I use a little bit of brass polish, but some liquid car wax works too. You don't want too much or you get a tacky build up on the brass, so like the saying goes, a little dab will do ya!

    My empire of dirt
I just picked up 12,000 rounds of .45acp brass this past weekend so I'm doing a tumbler marathon. I've got 3 tumblers going as I type this and I have about 1,000 left to do for the last session. I just replaced about 15-20lbs of walnut media; it looked like dirt, with fine dust floating in the air. Had to wear a mask to keep from breathing all that crap in.

The term naptha gets used a lot. Common VM&P Naptha is very fast evaporating, much faster than mineral spirits and won't stay in the vibratory case polisher for long. Not much smell though.:)
