I reread that tweet when it was posted in the other nascar thread and it struck me differently than my initial reading, he actually is making an excuse that the women’s game was head to head so the ratings were a victory, just like @greg would, instead of acknowledging the the WNCAA games have figured out how to draw viewers to their sport in a way all of nascar has not…

Nah, I saw on twitter one day that desperate housewives kill nascar ratings and thought it was hilarious. I dont remember which show it was but reruns were getting more viewers than nascar races… and it was a show from when i was a kid so something people have seen a hundred times already.

I was 13 when Sr died. My teenage years watching nascar was the boom of the series. At that age, you dont realize what a big deal it was for nascar to get those kind of numbers. It is dead in comparison. People are tuning in to everything but nascar now. And sadly, instead of wanting to fix the sport, blind followers brag about 2 million views and argue when you discuss its issues.
