Good reminder to test fire and carbon monoxide alarms and replace batteries. We recently went through a fire drill with my two and four year old and established a meeting place.

Other things I do this time of year:

Clean the dryer vent. This tool is affordable and works great Gardus LintEater Rotary Dryer Vent Cleaning System RLE202 at The Home Depot - Mobile

Re-bait mouse traps and refill bait boxes to prevent mice from getting in and chewing wiring.

I do this as well. Good point and a good reminder. Only YOU can prevent House Fires. Really, thanks!

I don't have one of those dryer vent gadgets though, looks cool. May have to get one. I just beat on the thing for a while then suck it all out with a shop vac and then kinda let the fluff blow out, reversing the shop vac, to try and get the rest of it outside and way from the dryer.
