Don't recall seeing winchesters in boxes like that. Remember shooting some super -x cases but then to excited to be shooting a rifle to care about the make of ammo. About 1977-79.

    Super awesome pics, btw.

I have some older super X. It is the most accurate out of all 22 ammo I have tried. Just picked up 3- 100 rd plastic boxes at Wally recently. Haven't tried it for accuracy yet.

It is not bad for accuracy and it is on the hot side as far as .22lr goes.

    So, mid-70s you think?

The pics are the passenger seat of my Tacoma.:D

Seeing them jarred some good memories maybe 10 to 13 years old then. Appreciate gun stuff tremendously. The older stuff had so much going for it.

Trying to remember exactly what the base of the case looked like. But do remember super-X cases well and them being popular, being gun nut from an early age, remember that the box looked like the CCI box because in the, maybe the early, but definitely mid to late 80's the CCI's were the only ones in separated plastic cases.

Still picking up cases and looking at them to see what somebody else is shooting:D

I feel better now that I read the thread. Kirk posting about 'dating' and ammunition...I had never of an ammophile, but then again, I hadn't heard of most of the 967 different genders that supposedly exist either. :):

My father in law has a couple packs of that still, and the price tag I believe still has the store name on it: Target. :)

Some pics of older than 1972 .22 case bases. Just random cases I have wish I had the boxes.

The rimfires I found the shiniest one in the midde is a .22 long rifle. Notice the next one to the right a little larger diameter and longer.

    Going from right to left:
.22 BB cap or 6mm Flobert (interchangeable)
    .22 Short
.22 Winchester Auto, special cartridge just for the 1903 Winchester semi auto rifle
    .22 LR
    .32 short RF
    .38 short RF

The BB cap now that you mention it looks like a fancy FB.
Your knowledge on cases is amazing!
