Trying to find info about an old family gun.
My 85 year-old father in Pennsylvania has a Sears & Roebuck (JC Higgins) Model 50, in 270 Win. It is markedd "583.91"
This gun belonged to his father, my grandfather, and according to Dad it has to have been made in the late 40's - 50's. It is one of the finest shooting bolt actions I've fired but we don't know who made the gun for Sears. He still has the orginal book on the gun but it doesnt' note the maker.
Can anyone out there in INGO land fill in the blanks about this gun?
Thanks for whatever you can do.
