Bought an old Nickel S&W 15-3 revolver and love how it shoots. The gun mechanically is great, but the nickel finish has seen better days.
Wondering if anybody refinishes firearms in Central Indiana? I wanting either nickel or hard chrome.

    Thanks for the help!

Buddy it's just an opinion but that ol' Smith looks just fine the way it is...Find you some K frame factory target grips to cover up that beauty mark and she'll look just fine....

    IMHO,

And snorko makes three. You'll find a strong contingent on here that appreciates a well worn S&W. If you really want it done, why not send it to S&W. Nickel high polish is $275.

Thats why i HATE rubber grips ,HAVE SEEN THAT PATTERN ON TOO MANY BEAUTIFUL GUNS. You can try to rub out the gun with MOTHERS MAGWHEEL polish, It might almost make the spots blend with the rest of the gun. Also if you must have rubber grips ,!st remove the grips and wax the grip frame and any parts that they will cover .At least 2 coats ,DON'T wipe it off and install the grips .At least 1 a year remove the grips wipe it off and re apply the wax .

Thanks all for the advice. I'm going to get some polish this weekend and see how it turns out.
I was wondering if those marks were from rubber grips that were never taken off and wiped down.
She is a sweet shooter and is mechanically sound.

One thing to consider is if you ever want to sell the revolver, you will never recoup the money to spent on getting it refinished. The first time I worked in a gunshop (early 70's) part of my duties was to polish up old nickel plated guns with Simichrome. It made a huge difference in the appearance of old S&W revolvers. Other polishes might work equally as well, but I know that Simichrome works. Here is a link:1.76 oz. Simichrome : SIMICHROME POLISH | Shop Brownells
