Welcome to INGO, from Greenfield, Indiana! How's the Gaslamp doing? :D

For all INGO'ers out there, San Diego is quite a bit different than the rest of California - HUGE Navy/Marine Corps presence, and tons of military retirees and veterans residing in the area. Their US Representative is Duncan Hunter (R), Marine Corps veteran of two tours in Iraq and a tour in Afghanistan.

Uh, yeah. Not the fondest of memories there.
The last time I was in San Diego was in Sept. 1977, at MCRD (that's Marine Corps. Recruit Depot for those of you in Rio Linda).

I'm no longer quite so enamored with San Diego, or olive drab-1@ either. I found out Elvis had died while I was at Edson range, just an armored bus-ride away from MCRD San Diego.

If you someone that went through MCRD San Diego, ask them about the "Rose-Garden", and watch them winch. Log drills were just loads of fun as well.
Sorry, nothing personal, I just find the mid-west more to my liking.
