New Jersey today enacted a bill which is even worse than New York or California's blatant unconstitutional restrictions on carry. You'll have to read it to believe it, but some of the worst points highlighted below. And of course, all of them are felonies:
Places where the carrying of a weapon is prohibited. ...
ANY BUSINESS OR OTHER PRIVATE PROPERTY
(24) private property, including but not limited to residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural, institutional or undeveloped property, unless the owner has provided express consent or has posted a sign indicating that it is permissible to carry on the premises a concealed handgun with a valid and lawfully issued license under N.J.S.2C:58-4; and
YOUR OWN CAR
b. (1) A person, other than a person lawfully carrying a firearm within the authorized scope of an exemption set forth in subsection a. or c. of N.J.S.2C:39-6, who is otherwise authorized under the law to carry or transport a firearm shall not do so while in a vehicle in New Jersey, unless the handgun is unloaded and contained in a closed and securely fastened case, gunbox, or locked unloaded in the trunk of the vehicle.
They require "carry insurance" which doesn't actually exist (and not having it is a felony) [They give you a few months before this one takes effect, but still they are requiring something that does not exist.]
There are already lawsuits filed by Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Club and Second Amendment Foundation.
I don't understand what they get by passing laws they know will be overturned, and will cost their state's taxpayers a lot of money. I guess they get the joy of ruining gun-owners lives for another year or so and extra "brownie" points for fellow haters of freedom?
