I'm bored waiting on my girlfriend to get off of work so we can enjoy the night together. I took some pictures of my Kimber Tactical Custom II since I haven't taken any of it in awhile.

Hope you enjoy! Have a Happy New Year, and don't go shooting a school or anything at the stroke of midnight!

Very nice. Kimbers are one of the best looking 1911's out there but I have sticker shock when I look at one. Do they really preform that much better than the springfields out there?

I honestly can't say. I've only ever shot my Kimber and my brothers Para Warthog which is a 3" double-stack 1911 variant. His Para had issues that required it being sent in twice in order to take care of the issue. It runs fine now, but I personally wouldn't trust my life with it.

My Kimber has ran 100% out of the box whether using our really light target loads (which caused cycling problems in my FNP45) or +P personal defense loads. I trust my life with my Kimber, as it is my carry gun.

Some have had issues with Kimbers, some have had nothing but good luck with Para's. With the mass production that is needed to keep up with orders, you'll get a bad egg every once in awhile with any manufacture.

I'm sure Springfields will run just as well as any other 1911 in their class. :ingo:

    Great looking photos. Camera details?

    Thanks for the compliments everybody!

    The pics were taken with:
    Pentax K20D 14.6MP Body
    50MM Lens:
    Pentax SMCA F1.7

    I also have the following:
    55MM Lens:
    Kiron 80-200MM f/4 MACRO
    Kiron 28MM f/2
...and couple of SanDisk Extreme lll 8GB Memory Cards.

The Kiron lenses are of lower quality than my Pentax lens, but with some filters they can produce comparable quality images if I set them up properly.

Quote from page 22 of Springfield 1911 manual.. Take it for what it's worth

    Note:
Always keep and carry your pistol with an
empty chamber and with the hammer forward (down)
until you intend to shoot, so your pistol cannot be fired
    unintentionally
    .

Download the whole manual at Springfield Armory

I"ll stick with my Kimber or on Sunday the T3:D

As bad as that looks, especially coming from a top company such as SA, that is just legal jargon they use to cover their asses. I wouldn't discredit a company based on that.
