I hate Hoppe's cleaning solution cause it reeeeeeeks. I found this product, bought it, tried it and it cleans very well and doesn't stink up the house. Just in case there are others out there that can't stand the smell of other gun cleaners. It's called ENVIROCLEAN FA.

Hoppes is what I used for years and I tried Frog lube and really like it. For some unknown reason I starting reading about Ballisto and decided to get some to try. Hoppes smells like lilacs compared to Ballisto, the latter smelling like feline excrement. It may work well but I'LL never find out.

They used to make Hoppes #9 car deoderizers, sure smelled better than a pine tree.

My ex-wife complained about the smell too.

Yeah, my wife says they need to make an aftershave that smells like Hoppe's #9. When the house smells like Hoppe's that means there has been some fun had in the last few days. A lot of good memories brought back by that smell.

I use Hoppes solvent which smells pretty overwhelming.

For luberication I use Super Lube PTFE synthetic grease. No smell and food grade!

I switched from Hoppes to SLIP2000 #725 Gun Cleaner years ago. Odorless, water-based (non-toxic) and available in a convenient 16oz or 32oz trigger spray.

+3? I grew up with Hoppes #9(for cleaning, CLP for lube) and it brings back fond memories every time I use it. AND...my wife likes it too! She remembers her dad using it when she was a little girl. And she isn't even much of a shooter...yet.

Hoppes #9 here, as well as Kroil for the stubborn stuff. I've grown attached to the smell of both. My girlfriend on the other hand hates Kroil, but tolerates #9.

You have to understand that Hoppes #9 is an major aphrodisiac.
But it only works if you're single.

I keep Hoppes # 9, in "stock", if you will..... I use it "when needed". For everyday use it is CLP .....

Good stuff. Practically no smell, cleans and lubes ..
