Obama Symbolism

Lots of things have symbols associated with them. Products, companies, groups, etc. But I can't think of another PERSON who was so self absorbed he needed his own symbol. Can you? Maybe someone can enlighten me.

What other presidents had their own personal symbol? For one thing, Presidents have the Presidential Seal and the American Flag to work with. Those are pretty powerful symbols themselves.

But Barack Obama has his own symbol and own personal seal. His official ads, official campaign signs, official airplane paintjob, all contain his sybol and are suspiciously devoid of the American flag. Note: I'm just talking about official websites, official distributions, official things directly being produced and displayed by O himself. These official things of course have inspired a myriad of other unofficial products being hocked by all sorts of companies, but we'll leave those for another discussion.

I did a search of a dozen or so other 20th century presidents (e.g. "FDR symbol") and I got nothing each time. Obama's symbol is everywhere you look. Seems he doesn't want to associate himself with the symbols that were good enough for all others before him.

Symbols are of course, important propaganda tools, but I will leave it to the posters to discuss that as they may.

Not really news, but I just wanted to barf when I read the thread on the Obamacare symbol.

There is a term I would use, however I think it likely that comparing said symbol to a rectal aperture with nearby tongue would probably get me infracted if I used the common term for it.

No, we're all his constituents...he just chooses to ignore some of us. It is his supporters who are more concerned with images than with substance. This is why they elected him ("It's about time a Black man was president!") and why the Senate has just confirmed Sotomayor for SCOTUS. ("It's about time a Hispanic woman served as a Justice!")

Hey, here's one:

It's about time we had people who respected the Constitution and their oaths to preserve, protect, and defend it in office!

Vero Possumus doesn’t mean what Obama says it means. To replace this motto and to give him a new name, I would substitute the Latin phrase “Veto Possumus”, which means Veto the Possum. The symbols ARE NOT the same. Look at the history of each. & no I am not supporting I6BO but really the 2 symbols are no close. & yes I HATE I6BO's policies and his goals for our country but really stop trying to see in the symbols what is not there....

As I stated in your above mentioned thread, why would they use such a symbol that so closely looks like the Nazi symbol with all the rumors of socialism flying around? Are they now mocking us? Discuss in the other thread I guess...

Becuase the NAZIs used symbols that most of the world recognized and this some slight edits and took them as their own. Case in point the swastika comes from a RELIGIOUS symbol but they angled it and made it their own. Now everyone sees the swastika and thinks Nazi even when the symbol is NOT angled!! Same here. The medical symbol came ***WAY***before the nazis and has stayed even after they left. It's the universal medical symbol that all cultures/languages understand. Yes the Nazi's used it (not in the image above), but so have we, the Japs, Iraq, Iran, Mexico, etc.. It does not belong to anyone it belongs to the world and it meant to denote someone who can heal.

The Nazi's used this symbole for their medical core.

Note how the "dragon/snake with wings" is used along with the "incorrect" swaskita.
Now if you want to compare **THAT** image to I6BO's image ok I agree they look similar but that is becuase they are BOTH using the universal medical symbol just like our OWN US Forces use it as well as ron showed you. So since we use it as well I guess that means we are also Nazis based on your comments. Heck since every country's medical corp used it they all must be Nazis a well.

Like I have said I6BO is I6BO and he is doing socialst stuff and probably will be in the same class as Hitler when histroy is written but these two symbols just don't match. One is in the world of medicine and the other of political power.

The symbol in question is not the serpent with wings. It is the fact that he chose to use the serpert with wings and add his own circle symbol at the bottom... JUST AS THE NAZI'S HAD DONE. I'll consider the history lesson on the swastika for the benefit of others as I know it's origins. I don't care about the swastika. It's the idea that they both used their own symbols at the bottom of the winged creature.

Socialist program, socialist program. Socialist leader, Socialist leader. The similarities are getting frightening.

The real issue is that Obama has chosen to use symbols as a brand, not generically American symbols, but as his own brand, just as the the fascists, Nazis and communists did. It's a form of personality cultism, and takes a page out of the totalitarian propaganda handbook.

There does seem to be many similarities between Barry's symbols and actions as with African and European dictators. I will stay out of the argument over his symbols, but his meteoric rise to power and many of his current actions including the demonizing of a certain group to unite his supporters is really Hitleresque in fashion. He is now sending his shock troop out to town hall meetings to give back twice as hard as they are given by health care (death preparation) opponents. His poses and posture mimick Hitler's. I would not be surprised to learn that there are re-education camps being built to house us dissentors. Barry intends to implement his utopian dreams as quickly as possible for the young, the healthy and the rich. The rest of us are just SOL and will only be used to pay for his programs. Both he and his czars feel that it is the responsibility of the older people to just get out of the way, die quietly and quickly and do not use very much of our resrources in doing so. I for one, hav paid into the system sinc eht 1960s and do expect to be around long enough to get much or all of it back as it was promised. Elections do have consequences!!
