'Tis true that Republicans will also sacrifice the 2nd Amendment on the altar of political expediency though, if they feel it will pander to the right crowd. They just don't feel as passionate about stripping away your rights.

Ehh, I can't agree with that. Santorum has even been quoted saying that all freedoms need regulation. Sounds like he is all for stripping rights that he doesn't personally agree with. The other 2 that the MSM love aren't any better.

This DOESN'T mean you should necessarily give money to the NRA...
    BUT
To think that if Obama wins re-election there's no increased likelihood he'll be more bold on the gun control issue is a bit naive.
Though might he wait until after the 2014 elections if it suits his strategy.

ESPECIALLY if he has a Republican House and Senate he can demagogue into caving.
I'm SURE Speaker Boehner would cave.

Even if Obama loses, I wouldn't put it past him to ram some gun control and other bad stuff through during a "lame duck" session if he thinks he can get by with it.

He'll still have a strong ally in the Democrat Senate Majority Leader, and a cave prone Republican Speaker of the House.

So let's assume obama-messiah declares all firearms to be illegal. Someone please explain how they are going to collect the firearms from the over 80,000,000 owners? Granted some would voluntarily turn them in because they are more worried for their immediate safety over their long term freedom, but what about those who don't voluntarily give them up?

they would start by stopping all new sales. And then Ammo sales would end. And then they would start looking for them on a more local level, starting with the collectors.

Not too up to date with U.S. politics. But how much is the firearm and Munitions industry worth in tax each year? Even if Obama did get rid of the second amendment couldnt a successive president elect just reverse it? The military industrial complex is worth billions and if private sales failed most companies would collapse. Costing how much in PRO-2amd campainers contributions.

    Where's the bacon?
A future President could indeed reverse an executive order, but that won't necessarily bring back companies that have gone bankrupt and sold their machines (except, of course, for those companies that manufacture for LE and military, at higher costs due to decreased demand.)

In a rash attempt to deflect attention away from himself and his own irresponsibility, Holder let Congress know that the Obama administration is still working toward the day when it can reinstate former President Bill Clinton’s so-called “assault weapons” ban. According to Holder:

"This administration has consistently favored the reinstitution of the assault weapons ban. It is something that we think was useful in the past with regard to the reduction that we’ve seen in crime, and certainly would have a positive impact on our relationship and the crime situation in Mexico."

    DUH. Any more questions?
