I don't think there's a law against being a big-mouth racist punk. If so then almost every Klan member who attended a rally would be in jail.

Would you arrest everyone of them?

If not then why not? Because they weren't being a "big-mouth racist punk" towards you?

So the question returns to would the person be arrested because he is a "big-mouth racist punk" or because he disrespected you?

    true.

& you don't have to like it when people don't show respect for LEO's when others in your profession abuse their power & act like big mouth thugs.

    Calm down, Francis. :)
I think there are too many questions as to all that happened to make an exact judgement as to who was right (after reading that report a lot). Klan members also get permission from the town/city that they are rallying in, just like a group in a town would have to get it okayed if they are going to have a concert or something to that effect in town where the noise could bother people. Music is also 1A being exercised, right?

Now, some of you assume that people were gathering b/c there were police cars there. Maybe, but what if they were gathering b/c of what the guy was yelling? By state law, the officer did the right thing. Like I said, if you don't like it, go to the lawbooks.

I think some are failing to see the predicament (back to the big picture) here. When is it okay for a peace officer to try to keep the peace and when is it affecting the person's 1A rights? Maybe since I and other posters on here have actually been in those shoes, we see it from a different point of view. But, if I was in that situation... well, I don't know what I would have done.
