America is done with its experiment with social conservatism. If the Republican party doesn't abandon the social issues and appeal to libertarian voters (moderate democrat civil libertarians and the more traditional right-libertarians), it will reach complete irrelevance.

Actual Conservatism is smaller government. Smaller government doesn't give a crap what you do in the privacy of your own home.

Unfortunately we have too many busy bodies who want armed federal agents to hang out in your bedroom. These fools pay lip service to 'smaller government'.

At this moment at least TWO states have legalized marijuana. The gop needs to address that as well. Prohibition has never worked.
