It took a lot of kicking and screaming and gnashing of teeth for IN to get CC over the goal line but at least we’re not Florida. :)

We still don't have Constitutional Carry here until July 1st.
Will law enforcement really make people felons or whatever it is if they carry a handgun without a permit between now and July 1st who are not criminals?
Or would that be upto the prosecutor?

    It's still happening daily.
"citation needed". Can you provide some numbers?

And what's the ratio of charges to convictions? AFAIK, that's a charge that's tracked on with a string of other charges like robbery and assault; as in, "plead guilty to armed robbery and will drop the handgun charge."

    Am I wrong?

And carrying without a license is a misdemeanor without a special exception.

That'd be hard to do since that charge is a misdemeanor unless you were previously charged, or already a felon, or it was at a school.

Florida is a largely transient society. I lived there in a real nice neighborhood until I got married and all the neighbors houses changed owners like waves washing in from the sea. The most difficult thing to find in Florida is someone who lived there their whole life.

That being said, the law makers are cautious when it comes to 'new residents' because even back in the 60's there was a fear of the real Florida being 'lost'. But we all know that with Disney and the constant influx of people those fears were just not warranted...

Today they are playing their cards even closer to the vest especially when it comes to 'who' and 'from where' all the masses of any given day represent. Would your midwest town want to give a travelling carnival who is in town the same say as to the running of your home as those who live there? I would think not. And Florida seems to be a magnet for all the crazies from all over the world...

There should also be a color for "shall issue states that require training prior to issuing", imo just another infrigement.

Florida will get it in due time, just like we had to wait in Indiana. They have their machine guns to play with in the meantime at their SOT3 ffl/ranges.

The rot that needs to be rooted out of NRA leadership is the same rot that needs to be rooted out of Florida politics.

It's the same rot that needs to be rooted out of the GOP

One has only to review the speech McConnell gave about potential 'scorched earth' politics if Democrats did away with the filibuster

Every example he gave, such as outlawing abortion, were examples of all the things most people expected Republicans were trying to do and why they were being sent to DC

The game always seems to be to hype the problem for support, do nothing during the intervening legislative period, then hype the problem again for more support because 'this time' they will really be able to solve it

    Lather, rinse, repeat

A problem solved is an election campaign issue lost.
