When we had our $30,000 of copper taken, it was the recycler that called it in to LEO. The guy was apprehended at the recycling facility. The bad news was that all of the wire was cut up into 6' lengths.
Omni Source got into some hot water on buying stolen scrap metal, they are now asking for ID on anything over $100 of recycling material.
ive had alot of wiring/plumbing stolen out of a house we ended up buying and costing us alot to have replaced... good news was it was negotiated into the price.. bad news was we had to go thru the hassle of it all.
Those photos are extremely graphic, and I sympathize with the folks who had to work the scene, and/or clean up the mess....but I can't help but to laugh my ass off! Justice is served.
I gotta tell you guys, I do feel bad for the family. But I'm sort of a bleeding heart that way. On the other hand, I'm gonna have to wonder where he got his decision making skills. Hmmm.....
