Shot a few rifles recently and 7x at 100 yards was OK. But I was wanting more. 10X seemed to make things more relaxed, less effort.

12X is no big deal. My eyes aint as good and its work nowadays. But having spent a couple decades varminting, I dont find 12x to be any problem for a rested rifle (bench w bipod and bag, or field w bipod only).

Maybe im just used to it.
FWIW my big game rifles wear 10x or less as max mag.

I have a rifle that I run an Eotech on as well as irons and when the Eotech is mounted, I naturally tune the front sight post out.
