Too warm for chili, I think.
    Beg to differ.
July 4th was Chili Cookoff day where I was raised. I learned long ago I could not make Indiana Texas, but my daily urges remain.

Battle Of The Bands, Car Show, Tractors generations old, Butchery displays, all kinds of fresh game, BEER, well, YEAH, Leather Work, Adobe Masters, Big fish prep like BIG ones two of us can't pick up fresh from the Gulf last night, etc.
Big Time for us simple folks, down in The Valley!

Everybody showing off all they gots to show.
    Independence Day! Chili!

No such thing as too warm, let alone too HOT for chili!!

Ranting while the last one is still smoking from the barrel seems like bad form, but no good deed goes unpunished.

Daughter: Dad can we - No. But it's just - NO. I'm only going to - NO!
    Pleeease??

OK, but you do know this is not the time or the day, first nice day? Yuppies everywhere? Please, early tomorrow. I buckled under.

We went to Lowe's 2PM-ish and as I said, no parking spots left.

That's why I stayed away from the greenhouse near me today (and tomorrow). It's their open house weekend. Drove by on the way downtown to Susan's appointment yesterday around 3 p.m. and they were packed then.

I walked in with her and we browsed for a while, then, having seen enough and not wanting anything to do with the long line to get checked out, I left her on her own.

Walking to the car, I offered to help a young woman load.
Not because she was cute - I mean ALL women are beautiful, but I would have offerd help to a lone Adonis looking able guy too.
    She agreed and thanked me.
Got it all into her (daddy's?) half a zillion dollar Wagoneer. Then she said thanks again and shoved the flat cart right behind my car, left it and got on the phone.

Then I realized she had parked in a Handicap spot because of "Daddy's" plate.

    No good deed ...
