They let 500 dudes go who they can't shoot, can't house "in a humane and careful manner which suits their lifestyle choices," can't put to trial due to disagreement on how it should be done, can't do anything without it being on al Jazeera, all due to the media and politics. It's not exactly a situation full of win. However, we can punish the wikileaks dude, and by golly we're gonna do it. Is it an ideal situation? Hell no. Seems like the general doesn't really have much choice. He still has to answer to those whining, libtarded politicans in Washington, general officer or not. None of us know all the details in this situation as it is, but I trust the general to make the best decision he can with the hand he's dealt. Right, wrong, or indifferent, at least he can make a decision and keep his thumb out of his rear.

They micro-chipped 'em to zap 'em from the Star Wars outer space laser if they become enemy combatants.

Also to show ownership if they become strays in the desert...

    Just don't tell the ASPCA!

caddywhompus, these are taliban fighters who were captured while ACTIVELY engaged in fighting coalition forces. Not Newt gingrichs "document terrorist"s.

There is no ambiguity about these people.

Petreus had to let them go. All the FBI Agents are on Christmas break and there was no one there to read them their rights.
