    I'm a knife-world noob. Would like to have two knives that maximize use across a breadth of tasks. I am thinking of one bigger (fixed-blade?) type knife, and something smaller, and lighter, with handling finer type jobs. I want quality. Price Range for the two knives combined max $200.

    Get a benchmade [mini] griptilian, kershaw leek, spyderco....

    and ESEE 4/5/6 or a blind horse bushcrafter/long trail/PLSK, that would be right at $200 for the pair, and youre set with a nice folder and a great fixed blade and sheath.

    basically call up knifelady and brad and theyll hook you up!

    I am by no means a knife expert. So take that into consideration when reading this. I am a fan of Kershaw knives. I think you get the most bang for your buck with Kershaw. I'm not just a Kershaw fan but a fan of most sharp things that fall under the KAI umbrella. I carry Kershaw pocket knives, use Shun knives for my kitchen cutlery, and even use KAI razors in my double-edge safety razor for shaving. They just make really quality stuff.

    So if I were shopping with your budget I would get the following:
    [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Kershaw-Onion-Black-Folding-Knife/dp/B0009VC9YK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1314755723&sr=8-2"]Kershaw Leek[/ame]

    Put the left over money towards a nice Merkur double edge safety razor and these [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Kai-Stainless-Steel-Double-Blades/dp/B004KTAC8W/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1314755890&sr=1-1"]KAI blades[/ame]
    :)

    The links to Amazon are for reference only! I'm sure Brad could set you up with the knives. The razors will probably have to be purchased from Amazon.:)
