Unfortunately this is likely Asian bush honeysuckle, an invasive exotic. Leave it long enough and eventually you will have nothing else.

Maybe so. I’m not a plant expert There’s some of it around one of my hayfields. I just chop it up with a bush hog a couple times a year to keep it from encroaching.

It will keep coming back unless you treat the stumps right after cutting. And birds will spread the seeds to places you don't want them.

Just noticed a bunch of it this weekend along a drainage ditch that runs through our home place. Time to cut some trunks and paint them with Triclopyr.

there is an app called Picture This that can identify plants, trees, etc pretty accurately. It’s free but constantly asks you to pay, and hides the transparent “cancel” button in the corner of the screen when it does ask to pay. it’s a bit of a pain to use free like that because they make it annoying but it has really helped me around the homestead. I’ll probably pay for it soon

Last piece of tail that one ever gets! Now to watch for the caccoon so we can watch for the hatch in the spring.
PSA: DO NOT BRING THEN IN THE HOUSE! When they hatch there is an absolute crap TON of the little buggers!
