Might be he the wrong are for posting. But does anyone have any recommendations on where or who to have a flash suppressor permantly pinned?

Trying to make a 14.7" Wilson Combat 6.8 barrel meet the lenght required. So I don't had to forum-1 it. Or should I just shoot it as a pistol unti the stamp comes.

I have a YHM phantom flash hider/ adaptor to use so I can run a suppressor on it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If your going to get a stamp just shoot it as a pistol for now, if your trying to avoid getting a stamp then it's easily done and I can do it for you if you want

    some things to consider....

    - the wait for the sbr stamp is long, but there are no other significant hassles after that, unless you travel somewhere frequently where SBRs are illegal
    - it's easier to modify the sbr (change handguards, muzzle device, gas block, etc) than a pinned muzzle device.
    - if a modification with a pinned muzzle device is desired, you usually have to buy a new muzzle device, pay to get it off and back on, etc (washing most of the savings vs registering as an SBR)
    - $200 for the sbr registration is a lot for 1.3" shorter barrel.
    - the hassle for pinning the muzzle device is a lot for a 1.3" shorter barrel.

For me, it was go short (I chose 12.5") or stay title 1 (16"). the pinned muzzle device route just seems like a hassle/$waste w/ little benefit...

if I already had the 14.7" and had to decide, I'd SBR it. I'd rather pay a little more now than have the hassles if I wanted to change something later....

Thanks for all the replies. You all have mentioned stuff I hadn't considered. I would like to apply for the tax-stamp, just want to make sure I'm good to go with the law.

would like to be able to use this upper as a pistol for hunting (which is why I kept the longer barrel). As I understand the 6.8 would meet Indiana's deer requirments. And also be able to make it an SBR at a later time after the stamp arrives.

    Anything else I should consider?
