Pistol Purchasing Permit??????????

Michigan residents only must have a pistol purchasing permit.

Is this really true In Michigan you have to have a
pistol purchasing permit to buy a gun?

I know Illinois has a FOID (Firearms Owners IDentification) card to buy ammo and firearms. I don't know about Michigan though.

According to what I'm reading, a Michigan resident must have a license to purchase a pistol. However, if you have a Michigan CCW license, you are exempt from needing a purchase permit.

It was like that when I lived there from 2000-2004. It was almost like they have kept the deal going where if you had a license you were exempt from the nics for awhile until they took that away.
