After talking to the guy at Rajo's, I am just curious about what places are known for kicking people out just because they are carrying. In Evansville, apparently the East side stores are notorious for it while the West side is pretty much a "eh, whatever check out mine" kind of attitude (I've heard). I live in Chandler, and I figure/hope that Warrick County walmarts and other stores aren't as stupid as the East side of Evansville.
    Any interesting experiences though?

Stores? Not too many I know of. Several have policies that I found out about later, but they never gave me trouble. Some of the more "public" places are anti-OC: Victory Field, Convention Center, Indy Zoo, Art Museum, etc... The City Market is NOTORIOUS for giving OC a really hard time.

Out here in Hendricks, I have never had a single issue with OC. Businesses, restaurants, parks, etc.... Never a negative comment. Prior to State Preemption, I even (unknowingly) carried in a few places that could have gotten me fined. No one batted an eye.

    Just west of Evansville
As far as gun shops you can carry any way you want in Rajos, Strictly Shooting or Red Ghost. I've not OCed into Gander Mountain but they have a carry-friendly sign on the front door if you have a license. Buck's and Jakes is posted but other people on here say they have carried in and not been hassled. I've personally open carried into all three Walmarts in the E'ville area, both Lowes, both Home Depots, both Office Depots, several Circle Ks, about all the Thorntons, including both on the Hwy 41 strip in Henderson. I've never seen a sign in any of the places and plenty of people got a good look. I believe this area is pretty laid back or people are totally unaware of their surroundings.

I don't remember what he said exactly, and I definitely can't remember if he was talking about his own experience, but he said that at the east side walmart the gun was concealed for the most part, some nosey woman saw it and ran to tell the store manager who the guy said is anti-gun anyways. Anywho, he was escorted out.
I guess if it is fully concealed, you aren't going to get hassled because nobody is going to see it, whereas if it is OC everyone can see it and choose to react the way they want. I, myself will probably CC just for my own comfort and avoiding stupid people... at least for the first few months of my permit... or I will just stick to the west side and Booneville area.

Not in Bedford or Mitchell. Be interested to see your responses.
When I lived in Bedford I would both OC and CC I never had an issue any store I was in. From the big lots, Papa Johns, Golden Corral, McD's, Marshals, Wal-Mart, even the ladies at Bath & Body Works (I was buying stuff for my wife, ok?). The police where very good there as well I was never stopped or even lightly questioned.

It also may have something to do with living in Kentuciana as well.

Hey, folks in Bloomington! How about in the PRB?

We go up there from time to time, but I don't recall seeing any signs. A couple of weeks ago, we had to visit the MiL at Bloomington hospital. I made it a point to look for a sign at the hospital entrance and to my surprise, nothing. You'd figure that city would be plastered with "no guns" signs.

Our hospitals here have "No Firearms" signs, I don't know, maybe it was just that guy's bad day. The guy at the counter said he's been asked to leave at some restaurant before, but he prefers shopping on the west side of Evansville anyways.

I've OC'ed in most of the PRoB now, never had word one said to me... that being said, there are some places that are very unfriendly to us LTCH holders.... AMC being the best example I can think of.

    As far as the rest:

    Wallmart
    Sam's Club
    Kmart
    Steak & Shake
    Orchelin's
    Sears
    Hallmark
    PetSmart
    BestBuy
    Target
    CVS
    McD's
    Burger King
    Taco Bell's
    Hardee's
    7-11
    Speedway all of them
    Marsh
    Kroger

I've OC'ed at all of the above and never had a problem

My Branch Bank just installed a metal detector, and a HUGE sign indicating no guns allowed. Was not real happy about it at first, but the chance of having to defend myself in that branch is pretty minute now. The only problem is leaving my gun unattended in my truck.

    Best Wishes,
    Tom
